Blue Cross and Blue Shield Enrollment and Premium Rates
Members of Blue Cross and Blue Shield are known as subscribers. Subscribers in either plan can transfer their membership from one Blues organization to another in other areas of town, or to other cities or states. Subscribers may also change their coverage from individual to family, from family to group, or any combination of change they need to make. When transfers or changes are made, the subscriber’s coverage continues without interruption. Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans are called prepaid plans because the plan subscribers pay a set fee, usually each month, for medical services covered under the plan.
